Country music fans, mark your calendars for August 15 – 17. It’s time to pack up the RV and head to Brownsville for the 2014 Bi-Mart Willamette Country Music Festival! Held each year on the third weekend in August, in historic Brownsville, Oregon, the Festival features some of the biggest names in country music; all performing on a private farm just three miles out of town. To get to the festival in the evenings, your best option is to drive and purchase a parking pass from the Willamette Country Music Festival organization. Or hook up with other festival-goers and share a ride via Zimride.
Camping At The Festival
Due to the popularity of Festival camping, all the 2014 sites are already reserved. But don’t despair! Sweet Home, Oregon is just 16 miles up the road from Brownsville and is home to several outstanding RV campgrounds. We highly recommend the Edgewater RV Resort and Marina. A note here about future festival camping: The camping passes are assigned on a next-best-available basis and can be renewed annually. So if you think you would like to camp at the Festival site next year, call the box office now to be placed on the 2015 Festival camping waiting list. Other Things To Do in Linn County
Take a drive or be sure and take the free daytime shuttle from the festival site to historic Brownsville for a dose of small town hospitality and charm. As well as exploring the pioneer history of the area, you can sample the restaurants and pubs, and take a self-guided tour of film sites from the classic movie Stand By Me. The surrounding beauty of Linn County also offers a host of daytime options to entertain you while you’re waiting for the concerts to start in the evenings. You can tour wineries or an organic goat cheese farm, there is excellent antiquing, visit historic homes, or hike along the rivers.
