Some incredible things that didn’t exist before 2019

Today is my favorite day of the year, the 2nd of January. It is our first day back at work and the year is laid out before us like a clean white sheet, unruffled, unblemished without any stains. I get so excited thinking about what lies before us, the seemingly endless possibilities and opportunities, the new things to learn, new things to try, the chance to get better, or make the world or our business better. How can you not get excited. You know a year doesn’t seem like a long time really and what can you accomplish? As I was thinking about this, I took a look at last year to see what happened. Here is just a sample of what can happen in a year.

The mirror was invented. NO, not just any mirror, this is an internet connected mirror that can create a custom fitness routine for you and you can attend interactive fitness classes. Now, I am not getting one anytime soon, but pretty cool huh?

The solar jacket. This is a fabric jacket that absorbs sunlight during the day and emits a glow after dark so you can be seen outdoors.

The ICON. This is a company in Texas who can 3D print a fully functional 350 square foot home in less than 48 hours. ICON hopes to use this invention to combat homelessness.

The Gravity Suit. No lie, you strap the 1,050 horsepower system to yourself and with 5 Minnie jet engines, you can fly through the sky at 80 mph. How cool is that.

Well, those things are fun, although likely not world changing, but how about these.

Watergen’s GENNY. This machine looks like a water cooler and it is, but it pulls water out of the air, and can produce up to 7 gallons of fresh water a day even in polluted air.

The solar suitcase. This is a solar powered generator system used to power delivery rooms in Africa where blackouts and power outages are common.

The electric jet airplane. Developed by Eviation an Israeli company, this is a nine seat jet with a range of 650 miles. It is set to begin testing in 2020. This can only get better.

In the world of medicine, the FDA approved 48 new drugs to treat an incredible array of illnesses and chronic conditions.

When I looked these up, there were hundreds of similar examples of incredible things that didn’t exist when 2019 started. What is 2020 going to look like for the world? I don’t know, it will be exciting, and maybe you can look in the mirror, yes the original one and ask yourself what new thing about you is waiting to be discovered and shared with the world. Let’s change the RV world this year.
